The new library services platform is now live. As we work through these first few weeks, we have some important updates about how things will look and some additional work that will be required.
Library Staff have created a guide to help you navigate the new system changes. It includes screenshots of how to complete core tasks like searching, requesting, and accessing your library account. It also contains FAQs about the new system for general users as well as a special section for more faculty-focused information. We will continue to add to this guide with more how-to’s and information as it becomes available.

E-resource Availability
All electronic resources will remain available and searchable via individual databases and collections found on our A-Z list. We need to wait until Go-Live to activate them in the new system, OWUSearch. As a result, searches in the new system during the first few weeks or so will not be representative of everything available to OWU users.
Note: Our streaming video services, Kanopy, Academic Video Online (AVON), and McIntyre Streaming Video will take a few extra steps to load into the new search system. We will provide updates when all e-resources have been added. Please reach out to the libraries if you require assistance.
Ghost Records 👻
As a result of the transition, the vendor has to clean up what you might see labeled as a Ghost Record. They do not contain any information and represent old records we no longer need. Unfortunately, the vendor is unable to fully purge these before Go-Live and we are not alone in this. We should see these disappear fully in 2-3 weeks time.
OhioLINK Lending Resumes June 27th
Just a reminder that we will see a 2 day lag time between Go-Live and resume of lending from OhioLINK institutions. SearchOhio (public library) requesting is scheduled to return later in the fall, likely October.
Link Updates for CONSORT and OhioLINK Required
CONSORT will no longer be a search option. Instead, OWUSearch will allow you to use a single platform to search resources at OWU and resources available via OhioLINK (which includes resources at all former CONSORT schools) without having to navigate to a new screen.
Library staff will be hard at work in the next few weeks to update all links and name changes on our web site and LibGuides. They are also happy to answer any questions you might have about updating links in Blackboard, syllabi, and other places.
