Inspired by our participation in the recent CTLI Faculty Development Day, we want to highlight some of the ways the library can partner with faculty to help students develop their executive functioning skills.
Here are some of the resources we offer to support student success:
OWU Wellness & Self-Care Guide: Developed in collaboration with SARC, Counseling Services, and faculty colleagues, this guide provides tips and resources for managing stress and integrating wellness into daily life. It’s a great tool for students to recenter and refocus.
Sage Skills: Student Success and Sage Skills Business: Through our OhioLINK membership, OWU has access to these online resources. They offer modular content that can be assigned to students or accessed voluntarily to help them build academic, career, and executive functioning skills. Topics include academic integrity, critical thinking/reading, information literacy, time management and more.
Instructional Support: Library staff are ready to teach organizational strategies and time-saving tips for finding and using library resources. These can be delivered through individual or group sessions.
Study Spaces and Services Guide: We’ve created a library guide and interactive map to help students locate services and study spaces that support their executive functioning tasks. Links can be easily shared via email or a syllabus.
Study Buddies: To add a little joy and company to study sessions, we now have stuffed "study buddies" available for students to check out and bring to their study tables in Hobson.
