Accessing Databases

To access any of OWU's subscription databases, on campus or off campus, you will be prompted to login with your OWU credentials. 

This is the same login you use to access Blackboard and your OWU email.

Access Outside of the United States

For those not in the United States, you will need to install and login to the OWU Virtual Public Network (VPN) before attempting to access OWU ebooks, articles, and other subscription online resources.

All issues regarding VPN installation and use should addressed with OWU Information Services.

Accessing Safari O'Reilly Resources

Find a Safari title in CONSORT Or in Summon... Click on link: “Full text online” or “Connect to…”
If it's your first use or if you are off campus, you will be asked to select an institution from the list. Select Not Listed. You will be asked for your email address. Safari will recognize your @owu.edu email.
Then you will be asked for your OWU account login.
And then you will access your resource.
Subsequent use on campus will result in this message when you click on a Safari link. You may then be asked for your OWU login if you haven’t already logged in to access other resources.
