Use the CONSORT and OhioLINK library catalogs to find books on your topic. As you begin your search, use keywords to describe your topic. Gather these keywords from the background reading you did on your topic in reference dictionaries and encyclopedias. While you retrieve records from the catalog, pay attention to the words used to describe the topic in the subject field of the record. Add these terms to your search strategy to enhance your results. When you do a Keyword search, you will retrieve records for books where your terms appear in the title, notes, subject, and table of contents field. While a whole book may not deal with your topic, you may find books with chapters that discuss your topic. Use Interlibrary Loan (ILL) if you are unable to find a specific book in either of the library catalogs. If you have trouble finding books, please ask your professor or librarian for help.
The list of subject headings below may help you find relevant books pertaining to your topic. When you do a Subject search, you will retrieve records for books where your terms appear just in the subject field. The subject field is used by library catalogers and uses a controlled vocabulary that may not be intuitive to a searcher.
