For help finding good resources on film, here are a few helpful terms or phrases.
An obvious place to start is with history, but that is too broad. It is typically helpful to add a modifier based on location, time period, and/or subject. For example, you might try colonial history united states which specifies both location and time period, or women in united states history, to specify subject and location. Don't be afraid to try different terminology. For example, east asia history gets better results than pacific asian history.
To find books, you can use OWUSearch, our library catalog. OWUSearch doesn't just search for physical books, but also lets you search for ebooks, journal articles, and even allows you to search for books at other schools, which you can order for free.
