Students, faculty/staff, and community members may borrow materials from the OWU Libraries with a valid Ohio Wesleyan University ID or specially issued library card. Checkout periods, renewals, and fines/fees are posted below. The library's circulation policy contains detailed information about the borrowing rules for all types of borrowers.

You can borrow up to a total of 250 items at any one time. However, there are further limits on the number of items you can borrow from other libraries so please consult the following table:

To help provide a better user experience, the OWU Libraries have implemented automatic renewals for all eligible items.
Some items, such as periodicals, items from the browsing collection, items on reserve, and items for which other patrons have submitted requests may not be renewed.
For a more detailed list of eligible items and how many times a some of our more popular items will automatically renew, clink the link above that best describes your patron status.
If you are a student, faculty, or staff member, you may borrow items from Ohio libraries seamlessly through OhioLINK, a consortium of over 100 college and university libraries, or SearchOhio, a consortium comprised of Ohio public libraries.
If an item is not available at OWU, via OhioLINK, or SearchOhio you can request materials through OWU's interlibrary loan service (ILL). Please allow extra time for delivery of these items.
Students, faculty, and staff can request that the library purchase resources to add to the general circulating collection. Fill out the request form below or contact a librarian for assistance.
