Due to mechanical issues with the HVAC system in Beeghly this summer, high humidity levels caused condition issues, book mold growth, on some materials, particularly on the third floor. The mold does not present a significant health danger, but should not be disturbed to avoid further spread.
As a result, we'll begin the semester with a largely closed stacks system while the materials can be professionally cleaned and humidity levels corrected. Materials can still be requested and pulled by a librarian after an assessment of condition. Some requests may not be filled.
Additionally, while we encourage users to turn to OhioLINK for print needs during this time, OhioLINK has recently reported longer lead times due to challenges relating to Covid and changes in courier providers.
