Scott Kelly, Ph.D.

Dr. Kelly's research interests include proximate and ultimate mechanisms determining the expression of complex traits, with an emphasis on

voluntary locomotion; physiological systems and their phenotypic plasticity in response to long-term training; genetic architecture of voluntary activity, body composition, skeletal architecture, gut microbiota; and the relationship between voluntary activity and human-health related diseases such as cancer and obesity.

Zoology 335 Comparative Physiolgy

An evolutionary approach to animal function, comparing the physiological challenges and adaptations that species and groups of species have. Major animal organ systems covered include: neural, endocrine, cardiovascular, digestive, renal, and respiratory, along with special topics such as navigation and diving physiology. Key physiological principles, such as the importance of scale in animal function, will be emphasized. 


This Libguide supports the assignment to develop a laboratory experiment by instructing students in techniques of literature review.
