Jan. 28 (Wed.) “Interlibrary Loan Using ILLiad” in AV 27

Marsha Zavar, Interlibrary Loan Manager, will explain how to initiate and track your interlibrary loan requests through a simple Web interface.

Feb. 11 (Wed.) “Intro to Office 2007” in Corns 109

David Soliday, Trainer/Help Desk Manager, will highlight the differences from previous versions of Microsoft Office and demonstrate some of the new features of Office 2007.

Feb. 26 (Thurs.) “ARTstor Fundamentals” in AV 27

Learn the nuts and bolts of ARTstor (a robust image database) from Pete Szabo, Music/Public Services Librarian.  This workshop will include discussion of its content and purpose as well as demonstrations of how to search for and use images.

Mar. 25 (Wed.) “Why Wiki, And How!”in Corns 109

Wikis and other Web 2.0 collaborative technologies are changing the world.  They are exceptionally useful tools to encourage participation, collaboration, and interaction.  David Soliday, Trainer/Help Desk Manager, will introduce how to put wikis to work for your classes.

Mar. 26 (Thurs.) “Advanced Wikis” in Corns 109

David Soliday, Trainer/Help Desk Manager, will build on his introductory wiki session with more advanced wiki techniques such as managing your wiki pages, inviting members, setting appropriate permissions, and more.

Apr. 8 (Wed.) “Blackboard Tools: Respondus, StudyMate and SafeAssign”
in Corns 109

David Soliday, Trainer/Help Desk Manager, will demonstrate three powerful tools available to Blackboard courses: Respondus, for creating and managing exams; StudyMate, for creating Flash-based activities and games; and SafeAssign, for ensuring submitted papers are plagiarism-free.

Apr. 22 (Wed.) “From Laptops to iPhones: Mobile Learning through Podcasting”
in AV 27

Chuck Della Lana, Manager of AV Services, will demonstrate powerful tools using Apple’s iTunes University to expand your teaching materials to students via their handheld technology.
