Cellular Telephone Use Policy

Many people come to the library expecting to find a quiet place to read and to study. Therefore, we ask cell phone users to respect others by observing the following guidelines for cell phone use in the Libraries.

1. Please turn the cell phone ringer off or to a non-noise setting when entering a library.

2. Cell phone conversations are only acceptable in the area between the entrance gates and the front doors of Beeghly Library and outside the entrances of the Music and Science Libraries. Cell phone use is prohibited in all other areas.

3. Please use a low voice when using a cell phone in the acceptable areas.

4. The library reserves the right to ask patrons to leave the building if he/she is using a cell phone in a prohibited area or disturbing others in any area of the Libraries.

2/2/05 approved by the Committee on Teaching, Learning & Cross Cultural Programming
