Film Studies Resources

An overview of the library's resources that support the Film Studies program

Searching for Sources

You can search for OWU resources using the tools below. As always, contact us if you're not finding what you need.

For help finding good resources on film, here are a few helpful terms or phrases.

If you're having trouble finding good books and articles on 'film' or 'movies', try motion pictures. Same goes for searches for the motion picture industry if you'd like to write about the business of movie-making, and motion picture plays instead of 'scripts' or 'screenplays'.

If you're searching for information on a specific genre or style, you can use 'films', like science fiction films or silent films.

Summon

Summon is a library search tool that lets you search across the majority of the library's resources including books in CONSORT, full-text articles from academic databases, media, ebooks, and lots more from a single search box.

You can read more on how to use Summon here.

CONSORT

CONSORT is the online catalog shared by OWU, Denison, Kenyon, and Wooster. Search here to find books, magazines, music, and video.

OhioLINK

The OhioLINK catalog allows you to search libraries throughout the state and request items to be delivered to you here at OWU.

*If your item isn't available via OhioLINK request it through Interlibrary Loan.

WorldCat

WorldCat is a catalog that expands your search even further, searching libraries all around the world. And yes, you can request items from here too.

*Items you find in WorldCat will most likely need to be requested via Interlibrary Loan.
